Terms for Submitting Your Words

By submitting your words to the Shape Their Story project, you are joining a movement to bring powerful, positive messages into the hearts of children everywhere.

Here’s what you agree to when you submit:

1. Permission to Use Your Words You give permission for your submitted words to be:

• Included in the Shape Their Story children’s book (in full or in part)
• Shared on our website, social media, or as part of related displays in digital or physical formats
• Displayed with your first name only on the digital “Words Wall” and in social content (e.g. user-submitted Post-it photos), if you choose to include your name Names will not be printed in the book itself - to preserve the book’s collective, universal feel.

2. Creative Discretion

We may adapt or lightly edit your submission for clarity, flow, or space - always with care and respect for your original message and intent.

3. No Guarantee of Inclusion

While we hope to include as many submissions as possible, we can’t guarantee that every entry will appear in the final book. All submissions, however, remain a valued part of the wider movement and may be featured online or in other materials.

4. You Retain Ownership

You remain the copyright owner of your original words. By submitting them, you grant Shape Their Story a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, publish, and share them as part of the movement.

5. Book Copyright

The copyright of the book in which your words may appear - including its title, layout, illustrations, and written content - will remain solely with the author and creators of Shape Their Story.

6. A Kindness Policy

This is a project rooted in care, encouragement, and belonging. Any submissions that contain harmful, discriminatory, or inappropriate content will not be used.
